Baseball Recap: Cameron Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cameron had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Lexington Minutemen. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dragons have posted since March 23rd.

The team relied heavily on Chase Jorgensen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Cameron is 2-1 when Jorgensen posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Feighert, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Cameron's record now sits at 6-9. As for Lexington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cameron will welcome Stewartsville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lexington, they will be playing at home against Richmond at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.57 runs per game on average), something the Minutemen will no doubt try to take advantage of.
