Softball Recap: Beaverton Has No Trouble Against Churchill

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Beaverton brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Churchill Lancers on Tuesday. With that victory, the Beavers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Addison Riedel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Riedel was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Gracie Burnett was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Mia Eberhart was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Beaverton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four strikeouts batters every time they've taken the field this season.

With the win, Beaverton broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Churchill, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Beaverton will take on Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Beavers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. Churchill has already played their next game (against Marshfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
