Baseball Recap: Spanish River Takes a Loss

Spanish River fell victim to St. Brendan and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the St. Brendan Sabres, falling 7-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Sharks were not able to get on the board.

Spanish River got a good showing from Dylan Werblow, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, Werblow gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

Spanish River has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. St. Brendan's record now sits at 9-6.

Coming up, Spanish River will venture away from home to take on Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Dr. Joaquin Garcia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season. As for St. Brendan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Braddock at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
