Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Beats Calera for Their Fourth Straight Win

Oak Grove put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Calera Eagles. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.

Brody Black was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Dalton Troncalli was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Colton Praytor also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen base of the season.

Oak Grove's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Calera, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Oak Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 loss against Helena on the 22nd. As for Calera, they are taking a road trip to square off against Jemison at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
