Recap: Pearland Oilers vs. Heights Bulldogs
The Pearland Oilers won the last time they faced the Heights Bulldogs, and things went their way on Saturday too. Pearland walked away with a 54-44 victory over Heights. Given Pearland's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Heights is ranked 646th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Heights' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordan Clavelle, who scored 10 points. The game was Clavelle's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Rockwell Henderson was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 3 steals.
Pearland's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pearland will take on Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Creek is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bellaire at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bellaire has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
