Basketball Recap: State College Takes a Loss

State College lost against Carlisle back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The State College Little Lions fell to the Carlisle Thundering Herd 45-41. The Little Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why State College lost, don't look at Reed Melvin. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Charlie Yartz, who earned eight points and five rebounds.

State College's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Carlisle, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

State College will take on Chambersburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. State College is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season. Carlisle has already played their next match (against Central Dauphin East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
