Volleyball Recap: Legacy Academy Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Legacy Academy came tearing into Thursday's matchup with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Menaul Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Silverbacks also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-19, 25-10.

Legacy Academy found their leader in sophomore Bella Montano, who had six digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Montano.

Legacy Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive contests.

Legacy Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Menaul, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Legacy Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Oak Grove Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Menaul will challenge rival Jemez Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
