Volleyball Game Preview: Orcutt Academy Spartans vs. Mission College Prep Royals

For the first time this season, Orcutt Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will welcome the Mission College Prep Royals at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Orcutt Academy has four straight victories, Mission College Prep has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Orcutt Academy had won five straight road games dating back to last season and Charlie Stewart did his part to make it six on Thursday. Orcutt Academy was the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Valley Christian Academy which was due in part to Stewart, who had 12 digs and two aces. What's more, he posted three assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Mission College Prep came up short against Carpinteria on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Mission College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Orcutt Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Everything went Orcutt Academy's way against Mission College Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Orcutt Academy made off with a 3-0 victory. Will Orcutt Academy repeat their success, or does Mission College Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
