Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Central Timberwolves vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies

Montgomery Central is 1-6 against Oak Grove since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Montgomery Central Timberwolves will venture away from home to take on the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m.

Montgomery Central is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 32nd straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They were dealt an 83-30 loss at the hands of Ledford. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 640th, while the Panthers are ranked 157th).

Meanwhile, Oak Grove waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 81-57 victory. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Oak Grove has also been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Montgomery Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-19.

Montgomery Central was dealt a bruising 85-40 loss at the hands of Oak Grove in their previous matchup back in January. Can Montgomery Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
