Basketball Recap: Winter Springs Beats Seabreeze for Their Fourth Straight Win

Winter Springs had won three straight games and Heaven Sims did her part to make it four on Friday. The Winter Springs Bears came out on top against the Seabreeze Sandcrabs by a score of 42-29 thanks in part to Sims, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Lane, who posted four points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Despite the loss, Seabreeze still got an impressive performance from Madeleine Trumble, who had 11 points. Another player making a difference was Michelle Ackley, who put up six points.

Winter Springs pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Seabreeze, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Winter Springs will face off against Forest Lake Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Seabreeze, they will square off against Matanzas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
