The Wheatmore Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Providence Grove by a score of 14-12. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wheatmore in their matchups with Providence Grove: they've now lost five in a row.

Providence Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Fox led the charge by rushing for 179 yards and a touchdown.

Wheatmore's defeat was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Randleman and 9-1 Ledford (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.6% over those games). As for Providence Grove, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Wheatmore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Providence Grove will head out on the road to face off against East Surry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
