Football Recap: Rodriguez Comes Up Short

Rodriguez had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it five. They took a blow against the Sacramento Dragons, falling 45-18. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Sacramento, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29 points.

Cordell Radcliffe produced another solid effort rushing for 249 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also picking up 69 receiving yards. Radcliffe is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 138 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Laron James-Radcliffe, who threw for 196 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes.

Coming up, Rodriguez will challenge River City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 11.2 points per game this season, so the Mustangs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Sacramento, they will face off against Vanden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
