Preview: Artesia Bulldogs vs. Goddard Rockets
Artesia is 8-2 against Goddard since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Artesia Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Goddard Rockets at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Artesia has three straight victories, Goddard has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Artesia earned a 57-45 victory over Portales.
Meanwhile, Goddard took a serious blow against Lovington on Tuesday, falling 69-31. Goddard was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-10.
Artesia's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Goddard, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
Artesia strolled past Goddard when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 66-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Artesia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
