Basketball Game Preview: Wings Academy Wings vs. Stevenson Ambassadors

The Wings Academy Wings will face off against the Stevenson Ambassadors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wings Academy hadn't beaten Marshall Academy on the road since February 2, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Wings walked away with a 65-57 victory over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wings.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wings Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than MOHAMED FOFANA, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, FOFANA now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of EMMANUEL NIEVES, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 15 points and five steals.

Wings Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 95-55, which was the final score in Stevenson's tilt against Eagle Academy on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Ambassadors in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Stevenson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wings Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Wings Academy strolled past Stevenson in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 69-54. Will the Wings repeat their success, or do the Ambassadors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
