Summit Shasta proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Basis Independent Silicon Valley Bobcats 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Black Bears in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won three in a row.

Summit Shasta took Basis Independent Silicon Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-17, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13.

Summit Shasta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maile Moffat, who had 22 digs and three aces. Moffat has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Tan, who had three digs and two aces.

Summit Shasta's record is now 14-5. As for Basis Independent Silicon Valley, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Summit Shasta will face off against Immaculate Conception at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Basis Independent Silicon Valley, they will challenge Pacific Bay Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
