Preview: Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons vs. Canterbury Crusaders

The Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons will stay at home for another week and welcome the Canterbury Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on November 16th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Thursday.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Florida School for the Deaf & Blind had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They snuck past Eastland Christian with a 48-42 victory.

Ajani Zahira continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 228 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Roud Valcin, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Canterbury faced Real Life Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Canterbury enjoyed a cozy 46-28 win over Real Life Christian Academy on Friday. Canterbury pushed the score to 39-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Real Life Christian Academy cut but never quite recovered from.

Jordan Battle was his usual excellent self, rushing for 223 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Roman Wilder was another key contributor, rushing for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.

Florida School for the Deaf & Blind has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Canterbury, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Florida School for the Deaf & Blind has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 382.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Canterbury struggles in that department as they've been averaging 262 per game. It's looking like Thursday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
