Recap: Springtown Porcupines vs. Brownwood Lions
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Springtown Porcupines, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 37-17 walloping at the hands of the Lions on Friday. Springtown's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Nathan Johnson and Hayden Nichols certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Johnson rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown, while Nichols rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Springtown's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Brownwood, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Springtown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brownwood will stay at home for another week and welcome Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Decatur is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
