Basketball Recap: Tuscola Comes Up Short

Tuscola and Arcola squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Tuscola had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the Arcola Purple Riders. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Purple Riders earlier this season, when they won 34-33.

It was another big night for Kacie Sisk, who went 10-for-20 on her way to 31 points and six boards for Arcola. Thanks to that strong game, Sisk now owns an excellent 40.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Crystal Ramirez was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Tuscola's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-14. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points on average over those games. As for Arcola, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 22-9.

Tuscola does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arcola, they have already played their next matchup, a 45-34 loss against St. Anthony on the 22nd.
