Baseball Preview: Enterprise Wolves vs. Beaver Beavers
Enterprise and Beaver are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Enterprise Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Beaver Beavers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Enterprise is headed into the matchup fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Parowan on Wednesday as Enterprise made off with a 21-1 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Enterprise with their most commanding win of the season.
Enterprise got a great performance from Brayden Gardner as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gardner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Brady Crouch and Klint Bundy did most of the damage at the plate: Crouch scored five runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Bundy scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Treyson Whitman, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Meanwhile, Beaver had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They never let the Eagles onto the board and left with a 10-0 win.
Raider Blomquist was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Andrew Hollingshead, who went 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBI.
Enterprise has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4-1 record this season. As for Beaver, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Enterprise has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game.
