Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Newman's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cardinal Newman came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the West Boca Raton Bulls with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulls, too.

Cardinal Newman not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept West Boca Raton between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-17.

Cardinal Newman was led to victory by Ava Hinds and Eloise Libra. Hinds had five aces and one assist, while Libra had four aces and one assist. Those five aces gave Hinds a new career-high. Rylee Murphy also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Cardinal Newman was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Cardinal Newman's record is now 12-2. As for West Boca Raton, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Cardinal Newman will be playing at home against Oxbridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Boca Raton, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against FAU High on the 19th.
