The Foundation Academy Lions will take on the Davenport Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Foundation Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Foundation Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering West Orange just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 6-3 to the Warriors.

Michael Surane was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Foundation Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Brothers, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Davenport's offense. They lost 13-0 to St. Cloud on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Broncos' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Davenport has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. Foundation Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Everything went Foundation Academy's way against Davenport in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Foundation Academy made off with a 13-3 win. Will Foundation Academy repeat their success, or does Davenport has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
