Basketball Game Preview: FAU High Owls vs. Olympic Heights Lions

The FAU High Owls will challenge the Olympic Heights Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, FAU High was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 24-23 to Glades Day. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cali Castillo was FAU High's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Castillo also led the team in assists with two. Ellen Vance held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Olympic Heights' undefeated season came to an end after 11 games on Thursday. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boca Raton. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Bobcats are ranked 308th).

FAU High's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Olympic Heights, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.

FAU High was taken down by Olympic Heights 50-10 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Olympic Heights' Miley Ruggieri, who made all 10 shots she took to post 21 points and four steals.
