Port of Los Angeles is a perfect 4-0 against Stella High Charter Academy since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Stella High Charter Academy Eagles at 3:00 p.m.

Port of Los Angeles is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell 5-2 to Chavez on Thursday.

Jonathan Rosette was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Rosette wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Vasquez, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Stella High Charter Academy was not able to secure the win in their season-opener on Thursday. They and Hawthorne Math & Science Academy finished up on equal footing with an 11-11 tie.

Everything went Port of Los Angeles' way against Stella High Charter Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2016, as Port of Los Angeles made off with an 18-1 win.
