It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Platte Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. Everything went their way against the Dawson School Mustangs as they made off with a 10-2 win. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Platte Valley let Hudson Flummerfelt and Shawn Rothe run wild. Flummerfelt went 3-for-5 with one run and one double, while Rothe got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Rothe has posted since back in March.

Platte Valley's record now sits at 13-8. As for Dawson School, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Platte Valley will host Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Dawson School, they will venture away from home to square off against Clear Creek at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
