Soccer Game Preview: Downey vs. Rocklin

The Downey Knights will square off against the Rocklin Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Downey is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Golden Valley 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Knights were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rocklin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Bella Vista on Wednesday. Gabriel Tavares had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Thunder.

Rocklin's record now sits at 11-6. As for Downey, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4 record this season.
