Basketball Recap: Middleton Tigers vs. Humboldt Vikings
Middleton lost against Humboldt back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Middleton Tigers were dealt a 63-36 loss at the hands of the Humboldt Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Vikings are ranked 87th).
Middleton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cliftavian Davis, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savion Hoyle, who earned five points and five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Middleton and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Humboldt, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middleton will face off against West Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middleton is facing West Carroll at the right time seeing as West Carroll is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Humboldt, they will take on Halls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
