Football Recap: Silverado Hawks vs. Norte Vista Braves
Silverado unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 20-16 to the Norte Vista Braves on Friday. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Braves from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.
Despite the loss, Silverado still got an impressive performance from Aumaurieon Bailey, who rushed for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Norte Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dreadie Allain led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and two TDs. That's the most rushing yards Allain has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jyden Henderson, who threw for 142 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Silverado has already played their next game, a 37-14 win against Yucaipa on the 29th. As for Norte Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 45-7 victory against Rancho Christian on the 29th.
