WILLISTON, Fla. -
Williston (Fla.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 17 points, drop to 10 before the final whistle blew on a 62-52 victory over
Lecanto (Fla.).
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown, the Panthers went into halftime with a 30-24 lead. The Red Devils took the lead for good with a kick return touchdown by
Tad Donald in the third quarter.
Williston's most effective player was
Darien Thompson. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for WHS, which was coming off a 16-6 defeat at the hands of Chiefland in its previous game.
