Basketball Game Preview: Lapel Bulldogs vs. Frankton Eagles

Two dominant forwards in Bode Judge and Brady Carmack are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lapel Bulldogs will challenge the Frankton Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a 12-game winning streak alive.

Last Tuesday, Lapel earned a 70-63 win over New Castle.

Luke Jones went supernova for Lapel, as he made all 8 shots he took racking up 21 points. Those 21 points gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Judge, who shot 58% from the field en route to 20 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Frankton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down Elwood 58-43 on Tuesday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Panthers are ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lapel pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. As for Frankton, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.

Lapel beat Frankton 61-50 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Carmack, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
