Basketball Game Preview: Independence Blue Devils vs. Fairview Warriors

The Independence Blue Devils will challenge the Fairview Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Independence is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cuyahoga Heights just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 37-29 to the Red Wolves.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fairview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Brooklyn 62-13 on Saturday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Fairview's win came from a few key players that Independence will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryane Kerrigan, who shot 57% from beyond the arc to rack up 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Shugrue, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Fairview has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points over those games. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Independence might still be hurting after the 48-24 loss they got from Fairview when the teams last played back in December of 2025. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Warriors' Claire Dahler, who earned 11 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals.
