Volleyball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Knoxville Central

Knoxville Central hadn't done well against Clinton recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Dragons. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Knoxville Central was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (104-101), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 16-14.

Ally Bryant paced Knoxville Central's offense, picking up 18 kills. Bryant got some help from Pyper Clevinger and her 20 assists. Clevinger also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kaylin Wiley, racking up three apiece.

Despite the defeat, Clinton had strong showings from Josie Moody, who had 19 kills and 16 digs, and Alaina Staudenmaier, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Knoxville Central pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Knoxville Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Campbell County on the 21st. As for Clinton, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Anderson County on the 21st.
