Volleyball Recap: Westlake Falls Despite Big Games from Kamylle Te'o and Leiema Fano

Westlake had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-17 to make it ten. They fell just short of the Cedar Valley Aviators by a score of 3-2. While the Thunder didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Aviators 25-15 in the first set.

Westlake's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Leiema Fano, who had nine digs and two aces, and Kamylle Te'o, who had 17 digs and seven kills. Fano is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Abbi Wood was another key player, getting six digs and three aces.

As for Cedar Valley, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since August 22nd.

Ashley Gagnier was nothing short of spectacular: she had 36 digs and two aces. Liviena Wolfgramm also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
