Football Recap: Lamar Consolidated's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past + How To Watch

Lamar Consolidated had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 35-11 margin over the Lee Ganders on Thursday. The Mustangs pushed the score to 28-3 by the end of the third, a deficit the Ganders cut but never quite recovered from.

Lamar Consolidated was led to victory by Edgar Garcia and Larry Clinton. Garcia rushed for 72 yards and two scores on only ten carries, while Clinton rushed for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Garcia a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lamar Consolidated was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lamar Consolidated's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Lee, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
