Basketball Game Preview: Phoenix Christian Cougars vs. North Valley Christian Academy Lions

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Phoenix Christian Cougars face off against the North Valley Christian Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday... The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Phoenix Christian blew past Red Rock, posting a 95-36 victory. The contest marked the Cougars' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, North Valley Christian Academy had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.4 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They breezed by the Knights to the tune of 72-37. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.

North Valley Christian Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Phoenix Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

Phoenix Christian might still be hurting after the 75-51 defeat they got from North Valley Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Can Phoenix Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
