Soccer Game Preview: Perryville vs. Sikeston

The Perryville Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Sikeston Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Perryville will be strutting in after a win while Sikeston will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Perryville made easy work of DeSoto and carried off an 8-1 victory. Considering Perryville have won four games by more than six goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Sikeston didn't have quite enough to beat North County on Wednesday and fell 3-2.

The win made it two in a row for Perryville and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those two matchups. As for Sikeston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Everything went Perryville's way against Sikeston when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Perryville made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
