Football Recap: South Johnston Trojans vs. Hunt Warriors

South Johnston and Hunt met for a duel on Friday where South Johnston came out on top. The South Johnston Trojans took their match against the Hunt Warriors 27-20. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 34-19 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Holt Langston was his usual excellent self, rushing for 64 yards and four touchdowns.

South Johnston wouldn't let Hunt keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. South Johnston can thank Mason Weaver and Kelson Lenzina for forcing both of them. Hunt lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Barnes Willoughby, who threw for 158 yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. 100 of Willoughby's passing yards were hauled in by Ny'Gir Alston.

The win made it two in a row for South Johnston and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Hunt, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4.

South Johnston wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 27-20 defeat against East Wake on the 25th. Hunt has also already played their next contest, a 35-29 victory against West Johnston on the 25th.
