Basketball Game Preview: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Carnegie Wildcats duke it out with the Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Carnegie will be strutting in after a win while Mountain View-Gotebo will be coming in after a loss.

Carnegie will head into Tuesday's match on the come-up: they were handed a 41-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lookeba-Sickles 46-43.

Carnegie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Uzziah Ahhaitty, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points. Those 15 points gave Ahhaitty a new career-high. Kevin Galvez was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 65 points the game before, Mountain View-Gotebo was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a blow against Blair, falling 55-20.

Mountain View-Gotebo's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Carnegie, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything went Carnegie's way against Mountain View-Gotebo when the teams last played back in January, as Carnegie made off with a 60-34 victory. Does Carnegie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mountain View-Gotebo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
