Basketball Recap: North Pole Comes Up Short

North Pole was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lathrop Malemutes. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-44 last Tuesday.

North Pole's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Lathrop, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.

North Pole and Lathrop could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alaska Rankings. North Pole will challenge Monroe Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th down 70 places (83 vs. 13). Meanwhile, Lathrop (ranked 30th) will meet Bettye Davis East Anchorage (ranked first) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
