Lincoln Leadership Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariel Helena, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Valley Forge Baptist Academy got the win against Upper Bucks Christian on Monday by a conclusive 11-3. Considering the Patriots have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Abe Moore and Ian WALL made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Moore struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, WALL struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Moore went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while WALL went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. Those two triples gave WALL a new career-high.
In other batting news, Chanler Buckman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Micah Simotas also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Valley Forge Baptist Academy's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lincoln Leadership Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Valley Forge Baptist Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
