Basketball Recap: Sandusky Comes Up Short

Sandusky lost against Norwalk back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Sandusky Blue Streaks took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norwalk Truckers. While losing is never fun, the Blue Streaks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Truckers are ranked 36th).

Despite the loss, Sandusky still got an impressive performance from Maekayla Rameau, who posted 27 points and four steals. Rameau is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last five games she's played. Ra'Kiya Collier was another key player, putting up eight points along with five assists and five boards.

Sandusky's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Norwalk, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Sandusky does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norwalk, they will face off against Ashland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ashland will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Norwalk surely won't give up without a fight.
