Baseball Recap: Cabrillo Conquistadores vs. Mission College Prep Royals
Cabrillo extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 10-11 in the process. They lost 13-1 to the Mission College Prep Royals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 back in March.
Cabrillo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Barraza, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
As for Mission College Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.
On Mission College Prep's side, Brayden Mott was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Mott has posted since back in April of 2024. Kyson Hickman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
While Cabrillo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
