Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Cavaliers vs. Yankton Bucks/Gazelles

Jefferson is on a three-game streak of home losses, Yankton a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Jefferson Cavaliers will host the Yankton Bucks/Gazelles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Jefferson is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since January 27, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Washington by a score of 65-62.

Meanwhile, Yankton lost 66-43 to O'Gorman on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Bucks/Gazelles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Knights are ranked 20th).

Yankton's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1.

Jefferson came out on top in a nail-biter against Yankton in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 63-60. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or does Yankton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
