Basketball Recap: Christ the King Falls Despite Big Games from Cooper Ryan and Sean Gere

Christ the King lost against Lincoln Charter back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Christ the King Crusaders came up short against the Lincoln Charter Eagles, falling 67-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crusaders have suffered against the Eagles since January 11, 2022.

Despite the loss, Christ the King had strong showings from Sean Gere, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points, and Cooper Ryan, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Reimels, who put up ten points.

Leading Lincoln Charter to victory were Mckennon Showers and David Reed IV. Showers went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points and five assists, while Reed IV dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. Sylas Coleman was another key player, putting up ten points.

Christ the King dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lincoln Charter, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Christ the King will challenge Langtree Charter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ the King is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season. As for Lincoln Charter, they will take on Mountain Island Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Charter is facing Mountain Island Charter at the right time seeing as Mountain Island Charter is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
