Football Recap: Ambridge Takes a Loss

Ambridge extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They had to suffer through a 56-7 loss at the hands of the New Castle Hurricanes. Surprisingly, this marked the Bridgers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for New Castle, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

New Castle found their leader in freshman Marino Graham, who threw for 174 yards and two TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 111 yards on only 12 carries. Graham's passing game has become a key predictor of the Hurricanes' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Ambridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Castle, they will venture away from home to challenge Blackhawk at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
