Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Central

Central won against Washington on Saturday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Central Bulldogs secured a 70-65 W over the Booker T. Washington Hornets. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 102nd in Missouri, while the Hornets are ranked 20th in Oklahoma).

Despite the loss, Booker T. Washington still got an impressive performance from Joc Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. Mitchell is becoming a predictor of Booker T. Washington's success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Isaac Sanders, who posted 14 points.

The win made it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 4-3. As for Booker T. Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
