Freedom is 9-1 against South Caldwell since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Freedom Patriots will be playing at home against the South Caldwell Spartans at 6:30 p.m. South Caldwell took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Freedom, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Freedom needed a bit of extra time to put away Hibriten. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Panthers 47-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted against the Panthers since February 15, 2022.

Meanwhile, South Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to Watauga at home by a 74-55 margin. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Pioneers are ranked 28th).

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Ava Anderson and Kate Sears. Sears had a great game and shot 7-for-11 from deep and almost dropped a triple-double on 39 points, 14 boards, and nine assists. Meanwhile, Anderson was balling out in the loss, putting up 38 points.

Freedom is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for South Caldwell, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Freedom didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South Caldwell when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. Does Freedom have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Caldwell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
