Basketball Recap: Cherokee Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cornerstone Prep Academy last Saturday, Cherokee Christian came back down to earth. The Cherokee Christian Warriors were beaten by the Valor Christian Lions 65-29 on Monday.

Cherokee Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Haydan Bossart, who posted 14 points. Bossart continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Abby Medar was another key player, putting up eight points.

Geory LaMark was nothing short of spectacular for Valor Christian: she had 20 points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Mullholand, who put up 11 points.

Cherokee Christian now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Valor Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Cherokee Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pinecrest Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Valor Christian, they will welcome Greater Atlanta Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Valor Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season.
