Baseball Recap: Mishicot Indians vs. Shiocton Chiefs
After flying high against Hilbert on Tuesday, Mishicot came back down to earth. The Indians lost 8-2 to the Shiocton Chiefs on Thursday. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chiefs from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
Brogan Wasurick was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Mishicot saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jax Vogel, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Vogel has hit this season. Another was Daryn Smith, who earned one run and two stolen bases.
Mishicot's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Shiocton, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.
Coming up, Mishicot is taking a road trip to square off against Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shiocton, they will square off against Weyauwega-Fremont at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
