Football Recap: Mohammed Al-Hchaimi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Iroquois over Northwestern

Football Recap: Iroquois Braves vs. Northwestern Wildcats

Iroquois was the 20-12 winner over Northwestern when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Braves took a 35-18 bruising from the Wildcats on Friday. The Braves were down 29-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mohammed Al-Hchaimi, who rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown. Al-Hchaimi also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Brody Bickenheuser continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northwestern, rushing for 124 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries. Bickenheuser has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise. Brodie Mikovch was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and one score.

Iroquois dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northwestern, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Iroquois wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-6 defeat against Mercyhurst Prep on the 10th. As for Northwestern, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-20 loss against Seneca on the 10th.
