Basketball Recap: Kaycee Takes a Loss

Kaycee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Southeast Cyclones and fell 63-28. One positive for the Buckaroos, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Southeast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ayden Desmond, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Desmond's morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Booth, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and four steals.

Kaycee's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Southeast, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Kaycee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-24 win against Guernsey-Sunrise on the 21st. As for Southeast, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lingle-Fort Laramie at 6:30 p.m. on January 16, 2025.
